As time and exploring goes on, I am getting a clearer sense of what I like.... I am really liking these work boards... http://carolinemcgrath.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=217 And this collection of fabric by Ellen Crimi-Trent http://ellencrimitrent.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/03/woodland-friends-ii.html |

I've got the pattern for these birds somewhere already, If I could find 'just right' branches to use, I just might make a similar mobile for the room!

I LOVE the WPA posters!
I have a few post cards.... That might be even better. A few framed cards and one nice big poster...

How could we forget? Don't you have some already, JD? I think they could set the tone perfectly.
Another poster or design element which could be fun: either a poster of all the award patches you can earn, or an actual filled sash like the photo you posted. The Western-themed antique store at Western and Britton might have some awesome stuff.
There is also this website which I haven't had a chance to look at but the name implies it could be a good resource. These singing scouts came from VintageGirlScout.com

Some of these girls are psyched to be heading to Camp McCoy this spring, especially the zombie. We're an equal-opportunity camp here, after all.

Brainstorming brought up these ideas: - Tents with flap windows - maybe hang one over a crib, dresser or changing table?
- Pine trees
- Bunk beds for dolls
- Different cabin names
- lots of plaid and gingham
- scout merit badges... maybe make a mobile?
- clotheslines hung between trees to hang doll clothes

This blog has been set up for collaboration between JD and Sara, who are brainstorming fun and unique ways to decorate JD's nursery with a theme of Girl Scout Camp. If you are a crafter, voyeur or just another lurker, welcome! We'll be throwing around ideas, photos and links. |
